Welcome to Okay History.

Hello. My name is Chris. It’s nice to meet you.

If you are curious about U.S. history, want to become an Okay Citizen, and have a sense of humor, you have landed in the right place.

Okay History is a passion project born in 2021 in hopes of providing keen insight into various historical subjects in a manner that is at least somewhat entertaining. In Mach 2022 we began the process of moving posts from the main site to here on Substack if you are curious why there haven’t been any interactions early on.

My love of history runs deep. It was the only subject we studied growing up, so if you are looking for okay finance tips, or okay home improvement hacks, we’re sorry we can’t help.

Why subscribe?

Because as a friend told me once, everyone needs to know a bit of history.

Why not make it fun?

Sound, okay?

While technically not a historian, we understand people of this subject matter like to lay out their credentials to build trust. Here are a few of ours:

·       Both our brothers have history degrees.

·       One of our best friends has a history degree.

o   His mother, father, and sister have history degrees.

·       As a kid, we thought about becoming a historian.

·       We have access to the internet machine and books.

·       We read a lot about history on the internet machine and books.

·       We enjoy writing about history.

·       People have described us as funny.

Stay up-to-date about the past

You’ll get distilled lessons on a spectrum of topics, usually referencing the time in history it occurs. We provide a weekly newsletter on Monday followed by a specific lesson on Friday, and every new edition of the newsletter goes directly to your inbox.

That’s two emails a week. With pictures!

We are usually answering readers’ questions or ranking things. Last year we ranked the presidents, and this year it’s the states. Next year it’s something else we haven’t thought of yet.

You can follow us here on Twitter, and We over here on Instagram.

Become an Okay Citizen

I’m always grateful to meet new people, learn new things, and keep pushing myself to get better. It helps to be surrounded by people who share the same interests.

Thank you for stopping by. We hope you will consider joining our community and having some fun.

Okay, see you soon!

Here’s a picture of us and our buddy Blue. He’s the Bluest of the bears.
